Portela near Vila Baleira

Just out of Vila Baleira, the viewing point of Portela offers a fine vista out to the Desertas Islands and Madeira. Nearby is the Capela de Nossa Senhora da Graça (Chapel of Our Lady of Grace) a small 1950s building on the site of one of the oldest chapels on Porto Santo, and the scene of a local festival on 15 August. You can also see a row of the windmills that were once to be seen all over the island.
