Porto Santo’s airport has been extended to accept international flights, so check with your local national airline or low-cost carrier. TAP, the Portuguese airline, offers around 12 flights a day (depending on the season) between Funchal and Porto Santo, sometimes using local carriers. You can also fly direct from Funchal (book through the TAP website or in travel agents around town). Flying time is 15 minutes.
Heliatlantis offers helicopter flights to Porto Santo that take just 10 minutes, (up to five people).
The most popular way of getting to Porto Santo is by ferry, from Funchal on neighbouring Madeira. The boat usually leaves daily from Funchal (in the harbour, near Loo Rock) at around 8h00, and return around 18h00, though there are occasional variations according to season, and on Fridays to accommodate weekend traffic. Tickets cost around €50 for a return in low season, and €60 in high season.
You can check schedules, prices and book your tickets at Strawberry World agencies in Funchal
